As part of ongoing growth there is an opportunity for a Principal Pipeline Engineer engineer to join the team. This opportunity is open to both Staff and Contract.
Location is flexible.
Main duties and responsibilities:
- Provide technical expertise in relation to pipeline engineering
- Preparation, checking and approval of pipeline engineering deliverables including calculations, analyses, reports in line with project procedures, standards, and specifications
- Pipeline route selection
- Mechanical design, i.e. wall thickness, on-bottom stability, upheaval buckling, stress analysis (FEA experience) and expansion analysis
- Development of material take-offs
- Development of material specifications and data sheets
- Development of construction and inspection specifications
- Technical input to bids, scopes of work, estimates and schedules
- Attend interface meetings/presentations with clients/vendors as necessary
Essential experience and skills:
- Engineering degree relevant to Pipeline/Mechanical Engineering
- Proficient in pipeline engineering and design with significant experience within the Oil and Gas industry
- Knowledge and understanding of international standards relating to pipelines and current legislative and industry requirements
- Experience working in different project life cycles (concept, FEED and detailed design)
- Ability to communicate directly with clients, manufacturers, and suppliers
