    Project Engineer - Oil & Gas - Aberdeen

    As part of our ongoing strategy for growth, Apollo is recruiting for a Project Engineer to coordinate and drive the delivery of brownfield modification projects through FEED and detailed design.

    This is a contract assignment based in our central Aberdeen office, with hybrid working options available.

     

    Job purpose

    Reporting to the Project Director, the successful candidate will work alongside the Engineering Manager to ensure the successful delivery of multi-discipline engineering projects.

     

    Key responsibilities

    • Coordinate and monitor the timely delivery of engineering deliverables, and where necessary expedite to satisfy project requirements.
    • Act as primary focal point with the client, with responsibility to develop and maintain strong working relationships and effective communication.
    • Facilitate and chair meetings with client stakeholders and engineering team as required.
    • Anticipate, manage and resolve any project issues or risks.
    • Proactively identify and manage project change.
    • Lead and contribute to the preparation of key project documents such PEPs, SoWs etc.
    • Lead and contribute to the preparation of regular project progress and cost reports, utilising project support team as required.
    • Facilitate the preparation and maintenance of the project plan, utilising the project planner and wider project team as required.
    • Coordinate and monitor project procurement activity and supplier/vendor management to ensure delivery in accordance with project requirements.
    • Work with the Engineering Manager to identify, plan and align project resource demands to satisfy project requirements, whilst maintaining efficient working practices.
    • At all times work with due regard to safety, quality, and the environment.

    Essential requirements and qualifications

    • Demonstrable experience delivering multi-discipline projects to a brownfield engineering framework.
    • Sound understanding of the principles of engineering, procurement and offshore construction activity.
    • Technical and leadership abilities with a proven understanding of project facilitation, change and delivery.
    • Financial, commercial and contractual awareness.
    • Proven people management and communications skills (written and verbal).

    Desirable requirements and qualifications

    • Engineering degree and/or relevant experience in engineering or design environment;
    • Recognised project management qualifications (e.g APM, Prince2 or PMI);
    • Evidence of a commitment to continual learning and professional development.
