We are leading the energy transition by engineering smart sustainable solutions working across Offshore renewables, Hydrogen & carbon capture, Nuclear and Oil & gas. Our multidiscipline engineering and design teams support clients in the UK and internationally across the full project life cycle from concept, FEED, detail design and construction, through to late life and decommissioning.
This is an opportunity to join a growing team of naval architects and mechanical engineers, delivering projects across the offshore renewables and oil and gas sectors.
Responsibilities and duties
- Preparation and checking of marine engineering and naval architecture deliverables including calculations, analyses, and reports in line with project procedures, standards, and specifications.
- Contributing to the business development, enquiry, and proposal writing process for marine and naval architecture scopes of work.
- Technical leadership, client liaison, and delivery management on projects as required.
Essential Qualifications and skills
- Relevant engineering degree (naval architecture, mechanical engineering)
- Knowledge and understanding of legislation, international codes and standards, and industry best practice
- Competent in the following technical areas:
- Hydrodynamic analysis of offshore structures in Orcaflex or similar (RAOs, QTFs, moorings, flexibles)
- Ballasting and stability
- Hull and deck strength assessment and structural reinforcement design
Desirable skills
- Floating wind foundation design and analysis
- Subsea cable product knowledge
- Lifting arrangement design and analysis
- FEA (Ansys Mechanical)
- CFD (Ansys AQWA)
- STAAD.Pro structural frame assessment
- Marine operations engineering, MWS, procedure writing
- Cost modelling and scheduling
